How TALOS compares to the average across all indexed robots (normalized 0-10 scale)
PAL Robotics' TALOS is a high-performance research humanoid robot standing 175 cm tall and weighing 95 kg. With 32 degrees of freedom and 6 kg payload capacity per arm, TALOS targets industrial manipulation research. Every joint features torque sensor feedback, and four six-axis force-torque sensors at the wrists and ankles enable compliant, force-controlled motion. An EtherCAT communication network drives control loops at 2 to 5 kHz for highly reactive dynamic movements. A 1,080 Wh lithium-ion battery provides 1.5 hours of walking or 3 hours of standby. TALOS walks at up to 3 km/h and is fully developed in ROS, making it one of the most software-accessible research humanoids available. PAL Robotics, based in Barcelona, has deployed TALOS at leading robotics research institutions across Europe.
